Step 1. Update your System

To update your system, use the command shown below;

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade -y

Step 2. Add Visual Studio code repository and GPG Key to the System

The repository is required so as to obtain all the required packages for VScode installation. To add the repository and key, use the commands below;

sudo install -o root -g root -m 644 microsoft.gpg /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/
