Before you are able to create and send an invoice, you need to have a PayPal account first. Since many people are using online platforms to make money these days, you at least need to learn on the basics of PayPal. They will help you make your transactions easier, just like the PayPal to M-Pesa option.
Creating and Sending an invoice on PayPal
The steps below will help you in browsing the many uses that PayPal can offer you;
Step 1. Log in to your PayPal account
Go to your browser, log in to your PayPal account then sign in. This will allow you to access some of the options you can use. Log in as follows;
Step 2. Hit on the Send and Request option
Once you have logged in to your PayPal account, you will be met with some options such as, (summary, activity, send &request, wallet, offers and help). Click on the option of send &request on the top left. Just as shown below;
Step 3. Choose More and then click on Create Invoice
Once you are done with step 2, you will be directed to the next page as shown below. On the image, click on More, then the option of create invoice. For better elaboration, we have highlighted it in the figure below;
Step 4. Fill up your Business information
Once you click on create invoice, you will be met with some blank spaces that require you to fill them up. Fill the most essential ones just like as indicated in the image below. If you have all the information as required, do not hesitate to fill in. On our case, we have just input what is essential;
You also need to fill the Tax ID, Fax, and even additional information, like the street name etc.
Once all your basic information is filled up, you also need to input the billing address, that is the address of the person you are directing the invoice to. If it is a client you sold a product to and they are to send you money via PayPal, they will definitely provide you with their billing address. On the red arrow is where you fill the billing address.
You can send the invoice directly from PayPal or you can save the link and send it to your clients
Once the above is done, indicate the amount and describe the product, just like as shown;
Step 5. Preview then Send the invoice
Once you have filled all the required details, you can preview the invoice, to check if there are any details you omitted, then send the invoice. Just as shown;
NB/ After you have sent the invoice, you can also copy the invoice link and send it via email. This is how you do it;
How to Copy and Share an Invoice Link
- Go to manage invoices
- Click on copy on a sent invoice
- Then click on share link
- Then copy the invoice link
- Go to your email and input the address to sent to
- Then paste the link on the email’s body
